Sewing Business Tips: How to Promote Your Sewing Services Online

Starting a sewing business can be exciting and a little stressful if you’re new to the business side of things. After 12+ years of owning and operating a virtual assistant business that specialized in online business management. My clients often requested that I help streamline their online businesses and get their business organized along with strategizing and implementing their business practices.

If that all sounds too confusing, don’t worry, it basically means they paid me to organize their business operations so they could focus on their craft while helping their team keep the business moving forward.

Sewing Business Tips: How to Promote Your Sewing Services Online

  • Purchase a domain name, I recommend searching to see if your birth name is available to purchase as a .com (Just like I have done for this website).  I am an affiliate with Momwebs.com for my domain names and hosting, just click here for that information
  • Use social media including Facebook pages, Facebook groups, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Twitter. Remember, even if you can only post on a few on a daily basis, that’s a great start but I would go ahead and create your accounts to secure your business name.

  • Contact your favorite bloggers, magazine editors, and local crafty outlets, and see if they are accepting story submissions. Free publicity is a great way to spread the word about your business.

  • Network and collaborate with related service providers but not direct competitors. This may take extra time or you can even hire someone from fiverr.com to do this part for you.

  • Start each day with a goal to reach and connect with potential customers both online and locally. Remember to check out Facebook Marketplace for potential local customers and when someone shows an interest be sure to direct them to your website so you can have a more in-depth conversation and along with getting their contact information. They may not be able to purchase your sewing services immediately so offer to stay in touch with them by means of your newsletter.

Just remember to be present and have daily activity online to show your customers and potential customers that you are the real deal and can be trusted with sewing their products.
