Sewpreneur: Aliera McDonough: A.M Creations – Handmade Children’s Clothing

What is your full name and name of the business?

My name is Aliera McDonough, and my business is called “A.M Creations- Handmade Children’s Clothing”

What is your favorite item(s) to sew?

My current favorite for fall has been cardigans! But my all-time favorite is baby gowns/anything super small (because they’re too cute). Whenever I sew a tiny outfit I always picture how tiny the little human that will wear them will be and it warms my heart!

At what age did you start sewing?

I learned at a very young age how to sew from my grandmother, who even at 92 still continues to be my sewing inspiration. I started in single digits sewing pillowcases and barbie clothes, with her help. Now at 25, she tells me I’ve surpassed her skills.. but my main goal is to make her proud!

Where do you sell your sewing?

“I mainly sell through Facebook currently. I like to connect with my customers and make every piece its own. So getting to chat and figure out exactly what they want/need for their kiddo is important to me.

What else would you like to share with our readers?

I just honestly love to sew, it makes me happy and is my escape from my reality… because Momin’ ain’t easy! I think you should always do what makes you happy, so that’s what I strive to do. I really put my all into every piece, because I truly love what I do, and I love seeing people enjoy what I work so hard to make!
